I had a breakdown about 3 years ago followed by a long period of depression and anxiety. One of my coping strategies was to read loads on the conditions. Now, if I hear of a friend or colleague who is suffering, I send them a book from one of the many I've read, in the hope that it helps them. I don't expect anything in return, but ask that once they feel better, they do a similar thing when they come across someone who is struggling.
