40 Guides from 5 different units got together to get to know each other, work together and explore kindness. Half of the Guides came from a unit attached to Bradfields Specialist Academy which provides specialist education for students with Additional Educational needs so this was a great way of mixing all the guides up in order that they could get to know and understand each other. 14 adult volunteers and 7 young leaders (aged 14 - 18) facilitated the day and ran a series of activities.

Guides made sweet boxes which they then filled with hand made truffles to give as a gift to someone else. They participated in team building activities, contributed a section to our Big Art Work and enjoyed a Gospel Singing Workshop. As a finale parents and carers were invited to come and find out what the Guides had been doing and to enjoy a performance of the two gospel songs the Guides had learnt. A retiring collection raised £34 which is being donated to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to further their work in other countries.

During the day the Guides reflected on kindness and how they could show kindness and they then each made their own pledge.
